Halle Berry will head out to Broadway to star in a play called The Mountaintop alongside Samuel L. Jackson as her next major project. Her Broadway debut! Halle just finished working on her new movie, Frankie and Alice, which as she explains, "was definitely a challenge, but as an actor it's really one of those challenges that you just relish." Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is reportedly ready to relaunch her music career as a solo artist once again, and this time is attempting to do it on her own label! A source reveals: "Geri is back in the studio. She wants to release a solo album next summer. Her masterplan is to start off with a cover reworked as a huge dance track. She is recording a handful of them now. She is out of a record deal so she has decided to do it and fund it herself. She considered taking it to a label but thought the way her fellow Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm played her solo career was a better idea - pulling it together herself. Geri also has a girlband she is working with, who she thinks could cut it. She thought it would be wise to sign them on her own and get the cash for herself. She has been texting all of her friends - including Victoria and David Beckham - asking for their favorite tracks for her to record." Her solo material has been arguably the most successful out of all the girls thus far, so we think that she's smart to try and keep creative control and do it all on her own! In the latest issue of Star magazine, Gary Shirley's baby momma showed off a HUGE tattoo of baby Leah that was inked on to the left side of her body. A source told the mag: "Amber brought in a portrait of her daughter for the artist to work with. It was her first tattoo, so she was nervous — very emotional, considering what she's going through with Leah." Maybe this new addition will make her think twice about getting pregnant again because that tattoo is NOT going to look cute when it's all stretched out.

Channing Tatum Is Confirmed For 21 Jump Street Posted: 01 Dec 2010 04:30 PM PST Great news for Channing Tatum. Last month we mentioned that the hottie was in the running to star in Sony Pictures' remake of the '80s series 21 Jump Street, alongside Jonah Hill. Well, it's now confirmed that Tatum will be joining Jonah in the new flick. Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad confirmed the news adding that Channing and Tatum will be executive producers on the flick. According to Belgrad: "Jonah helped create a smart and funny vehicle that is tailor-made for him and Channing. They are a perfect duo for this film and Phil [Lord, director] and Chris [Miller, director] have a terrific, accessible take on the material. Illinois To Allow Civil Unions Between Same-Sex Couples Posted: 01 Dec 2010 04:10 PM PST It may not be MARRIAGE, but it's def a major step in the right direction! Starting next year, Illinois will allow civil unions between same-sex couples based on House legislation passed today. The vote in favor of legalizing same-sex civil unions spurred debate on legalizing gay marriage in the state, but unfortunately supporters haven't been able to jump that hurdle quite yet. Here's what Rep. Greg Harris had to say about the new legislation by the House: "We have a chance today to make Illinois a more fair state, a more just state, and a state which treats all of its citizens equally under the law. We have a chance here, as leaders have had in previous generations, to correct injustice and to move us down the path toward liberty." Here's what Rick Garcia, political director of gay rights organization Equality Illinois, had to say about the bill's passage: "I think it was telling that as the bill was being discussed the governor came out onto the floor and got a standing ovation. We've taken a huge step toward fairness. We are thrilled." Here's what Bob Gilligan, executive director of the Catholic Conference of Illinois, had to say about the bill's passage: "Marriage has religious connotations that we are not addressing, we are talking about equality under the law of Illinois…This permits certainty for those that are in committed relationships." Boo to that, Bob! Obviously we're happy with the bill's passage, but now let's take that next step and legalize gay marriage in Illinois! Thoughts???
