Coldplay Gives Glee Use Of Their Catalogue Posted: 15 Jun 2010 05:15 PM PDT It's hard to imagine any artist refusing to let the FOX hit TV show, Glee, use their music. But travel back a year and half ago, when Lea Michele was on no one's radar but "Springers", and there was one notable band that insisted the show DIDN'T use their music. That would Coldplay. Back the present, the show has found MAJOR success in the ratings and on the charts and Chris Martin & Co. are retracting their rejection. Ryan Murphy, creator of Glee, explains: "At the beginning a lot of people didn't know what we were and asked to see pages [in advance], but I refused because I didn't want to set precedent of them having any involvement. My favorite rejection was Bryan Adams. Coldplay and Bryan Adams were really the only rejections. But Coldplay called a week ago and said, 'We're sorry, you can have our catalog.'" Smart move. Nobody has yet to be officially offered the director's chair for the upcoming film The Hobbit, but the 2 studios are doing everything they can to convince Peter Jackson that he's the man for the job. But other filmmakers are interested as well including David Yates, David Dobkin and Brett Ratner. Inneresting — but we think this project has Jackson's name written all over it! What do U think? U2 Bassist Sues Finance Managers Posted: 15 Jun 2010 04:37 PM PDT U2's bassist Adam Clayton has filed papers against Gaby Smyth as well as two other accountant's in Dublin's High Court, which is said to possibly be related to his recent case against a former housekeeper who allegedly defrauded him of up to £1.4 million. A source reveals: "It would be unwise to assume that this case relates to the case against his housekeeper, but that's not to say it has nothing to do with her."
