Letterman's Blackmailer Wanted Revenge! Posted: 07 Oct 2009 05:45 PM PDT Inside sources close to Robert "Joe" Halderman, the 48 Hours Mystery producer who blackmailed David Letterman for $2 mil last week, say the producer's motivation was revenge! And not the $$$$$$! Insiders say Halderman wanted to make Letterman "miserable" for sleeping with his girlfriend (at the time), Late Night employee Stephanie Birkitt. The money was "ancillary" to Halderman - rather his intention was to destroy Letterman and Birkitt! "He wants to hurt Letterman as much as he can — and he wanted to hurt the girl, too," said the source. Another insider shared the same sentiments: "It wasn't about the money… He definitely doesn't like Letterman." Childish!!! Michael Vick Gets His Own Reality Show Posted: 07 Oct 2009 05:30 PM PDT Reality TV really is going to the dogs. BET is giving dog-abuser Michael Vick his own reality show, as of right now called The Michael Vick Project. The show is going to revolve around his comeback to the NFL as a new team member on the Philadelphia Eagles and his tarnished public image as a result of his arrest for the dog fighting ring in 2007. Vick says: "I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I've made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it's not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up." PETA spokesman Dan Shannon begged to differ saying that "people who abuse animals don't deserve to be rewarded. They shouldn't be given multimillion-dollar contracts…or given the privilege of being a role model." PETA might spew a whole lotta crazy sometimes, but we're with them 100% on this one! Guns N' Roses Deny Any Wrongdoing Posted: 07 Oct 2009 05:00 PM PDT As we mentioned earlier this week, indie record labels Independiente and Domino Recording Company are both suing Guns N' Roses. The companies claim GNRs copied two songs for their album, Chinese Democracy. Both labels own the licensing rights to German musician Ulrich Schnauss' music and claim GNRs used the songs on their track Riad N' the Bedouins, and are asking for $1 million in damages. But now GNRs' manager, Irving Azoff, claims the band "vigorously contests" those claims. Azoff says the band plans to respond accordingly and adds: "The band believed when the record came out and still believes that there are no unauthorized samples on the track. The snippets of 'ambient noise' in question were provided by a member of the album's production team who has assured us that these few seconds of sound were obtained legitimately. Artists these days can't read the minds of those they collaborate with and therefore are unfortunately vulnerable to claims like this one. While the band resents the implication that they would ever use another artist's work improperly and are assessing possible counterclaims, they are confident this situation will be satisfactorily resolved." According to a speech Kelly gave at the Midwest Music Festival in Chicago, the scandal-driven R&B star says he barely graduated from elementary school! "I don't even read really and I'm not afraid to say that," revealed Kelly. "The only reason I graduated from grammar school is because I had a great jump shot." Once entering high school, one of R. Kelly's teachers let the singer know they believed in his talents as a writer and wouldn't let him coast through without taking advantage of his skill. "I went to high school and [my teacher] told me, 'You will be one of the greatest writers of all time,'" said Kelly. "I believed. You [have to] believe it. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Brought To You By Forest Whitaker & 50 Cent??? Posted: 07 Oct 2009 04:15 PM PDT Say what? Most people are familiar with the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll, who creates a potion that transforms him into his younger, more violent alter-ego Mr. Hyde. The concept has been done a trillion times before in movies, but now we can look forward to seeing two new faces bring the story to life: Forest Whitaker & 50 Cent. (Or does he want to be called Curtis Jackson now with all this film work he is getting?) Though much about the production has been kept a secret, Forest revealed in a recent interview that a new draft of the script has just been handed in and casting will find Forest in the role of Dr. Jekyll and Fiddy in the role of Mr. Hyde. Forest says: "It's also [an interesting script] because we are dealing with similar things. You know, this Jekyll has a lot of issues and problems personally, himself. Hidden passions, hidden perversions — and it's acted out by 50." We don't know if we can get behind this. It's been done and while we know Forest will bring something big to table, we know Fiddy will not. Stick with your music. You're at least decent with that. Will U go see this movie? Diddy joins Bravo, The CW and Modern Luxury who all have their own versions of the BlackBook guide and BlackBook's plan is to launch "hundreds of them." To promote the new app, Diddy is appearing on the cover of the October issue. It's all part of the company's plan to expand their guidebook brand to the mobile media world. Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his partner, actress Debi Mazar, were eliminated on Dancing with the Stars last night and it sounds like he's pretty relieved to get off the set and away from ex Karina Smirnoff. "I feel completely betrayed," he says. "I'm done. I don't want to get into the specifics. Let's leave it at I'm done." Apparently Maks is PISSED that Karina has been spending extra time with her partner Aaron Carter. Carter recently said he had a crush on DWTS dancer Chelsie Hightower, but a source close to the show says: "That's so funny! Everyone knows that's not true. That's Karina trying to manipulate things to take attention off her and Aaron." Oh Karina, NO! Aaron is undoubtedly an even bigger douche than Maks! Janice Is Giving Her Funds To The Bank & They're Not Giving It Back! Posted: 07 Oct 2009 03:30 PM PDT We all want to be able to wish our problems away. Janice Dickinson thought she could wish away a lawsuit and now, it'll cost her $300,000! Wish harder next time! According to a source, Janice didn't pay back a portion of a $275,000 loan she took out in September 2008. When the bank came looking for it, she ignored them. When the bank filed a lawsuit against her, she ignored them again. Now, she is paying up! Due to her negligence, new papers were filed with the L.A. County Superior Court saying Janice has to now pay the bank the balance of what she owes PLUS interest, PLUS attorney fees, giving her a grand total of $304,449.03 owed.
