When humans start A woman gave birth to EIGHT babies in a hospital outside of Los Angeles on Monday - and to make this even crazier - she was only expecting seven! This is only the second time in human history that a woman has given birth to octuplets. The first time was in Texas in December of 1998. Unfortunately, one of those eight passed away after delivery. The mother to the octuplets born on Monday in Bellflower, California, is going to have a lot of testosterone in the house. She gave birth to six boys and two girls. It took two doctors to help with the deliveries, and it was all carefully orchestrated well in advance. The woman, obviously, gave birth via c-section. The six boys and two girls were born between 10 43 a.m. and 10:48 a.m, the doctors said. The babies each weighed between 1 pound and 15 ounces to 3 pounds and four ounces. The doctors got quite a surprise when they discovered there was an eight baby there! "My eyes got to be the size of saucers," Dr. Karen Maples said when it became obvious there was an eighth child. "We just went on and delivered the babies." "The orchestrated delivery went off without a hitch," added Dr. Harold Henry. "The babies are all doing well and the mom is also doing well. There were no complications from the surgery to the best of my knowledge." Henry said that hospital physicians and their assistants practiced two dry runs ahead of time. "We planned well and it was well executed," he said. Maples said there were 46 people involved in the deliveries. "It was exciting, a little anxious," she said. "But we were prepared." She said the mother should be released in a week but that the babies would probably remain in the hospital for at least two months. Insane! [Image via WENN.] |

Florida's been on a Madonna watch since reports started circulating earlier this month that her Madgesty might be heading over to Wellington for the Winter Equestrian Festival. Well, finally, our Floridians got what they were waiting for. Madge showed up Sunday and made her first appearance at the equestrian event on Sunday. She watched the horsies for about two hours. The Queen of Pop was siting VIP, reportedly at the third-row, $35,000-per-season table at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center's VIP club. Lauren Conrad's high school best friend and current Hills hanger-on, Lo Bosworth, is going to be the spokeswhore for a birth control pill called Yaz in Canada. Lo's not even cool enough for the birth control pill's US campaign? In a press release, the reality Z-lister said, "As a 'Gen Yer' working in the entertainment industry, I need to be disciplined. Okay, seriously, what is happening at Chuck E. Cheese's? Earlier Monday, we told you about a confrontation that turned bloody at a Chuck's in Pennsylvania. Well, now a 3-year-old girl has turned up alone at a Chuck E. Cheese in Maryland. Abandoned! She was found alone at the restaurant around 7:00pm on Sunday. She said she came to the pizza parlor earlier that day with a man called Uncle Damon. The matter is currently under investigation. Parents, if you love your kids, don't take them to Chuck E. Cheese's! |

As we mentioned Sunday, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been vandalized by some anti-fur activists. Scribbled across their star were the words And now it seems the criminals have targeted other stars! The Queen of Soul, who just happens to have questionable judgement when it comes to hats, is also dealing with a defaced star. Aretha Franklin's star now also has the words "Fur Hag!" on it. If you want to get your point across, don't do anything illegal or that's going to cost people money. Protest peacefully. Boycott peacefully. |

Paris Hilton is one dedicated actress! Despite being nominated for several Razzies, the blonde heiress is still supporting her flick, Repo! The Genetic Opera. This past Saturday there was a special screening of the film in West Los Angeles' Laemmle Theatre. And, in support of the movie, Paris showed up - even holding fliers with her character's name on them.
