Just hours after Paris Hilton was arrested for cocaine possession in Las Vegas, she called on famous celeb attorney David Chesnoff to get her out of jail. Paris was released without posting any bail, which suggests she only had a small amount of cocaine in her possession. Chesnoff has also represented David Copperfield, Suge Knight, and Vince Neil. Good for him! He needs this! Earlier this week, George Michael appeared in front of a judge and pleaded guilty to drug charges after ramming his car in a photo shop back in July. The singer now has announced that he's entered a 14-day detox program where he will receive outpatient treatment, which includes drug counseling "several times a week." Michael posted a note on his website to his fans, saying:

Listen to the audience boo (above) Guns N' Roses after frontman Axl Rose is forced to use a megaphone to finish his set at Britain's Reading Festival Friday night. The band's set was cut short when they began their performance an hour late despite warnings from festival organizers that they had a strict curfew. Even though GNR played most of their set, their instruments were turned off at 11:30 PM sharp, which prompted Axl to sing through a megaphone to finish their hit song Paradise City. Axl later posted this on his Twitter:

This is probably one of those rare cases where an updated version might actually work better than the original! Producer Irwin Winkler is reportedly working on a TV series based off his 1995 film The Net! He reveals:
The original screenwriters, John Brancato and Michael Ferris, have also signed on to adapt the movie for television audiences! Inneresting! We definitely think that the story might fit well with technology as it is now! A lot more possibilities with the story! We doubt Sandy would come back though! But they should still try to get her for a cameo, anyway! |

Inneresting casting choice! John Cusack has announced via Twitter that he has signed on to play iconic horror writer Edgar Allen Poe in The Raven! The film, directed by James McTeigue, will reportedly be a fictionalized account of the author during his last days alive as he hunts down a serial killer who uses his stories as inspiration for his murders! Cusack writes:
The abyss is right! That dude was seriously fuuuucked up! We imagine Cusack will be good at the mumbling, socially anxious part of the character, but we're not sure we can see him that twisted! It's a battle for Best Actress! The nominations aren't even out yet, but insiders are speculating that Annette Bening and Hilary Swank will be duking it out for the THIRD time at the 2010 Academy Awards. Yes, these two have faced each other before - first, in 1999 when Hilary won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Brandon Teena in Boys Don't Cry against Annette Bening's role in American Beauty. The two went head-to-head again in 2004 when Hilary won her second Oscar for Million Dollar Baby, winning over Annette in Being Julia. So far, Annette has received rave reviews in The Kids Are All Right and Mother and Child. Meanwhile, Hilary is getting Oscar buzz for her upcoming movie, Conviction, which means these two are very likely to meet each other again at next year's Oscars.
