Mariah Must LOVE Brazil! Posted: 09 Mar 2010 05:15 PM PST If she doesn't, she should! Mariah Carey's new music hasn't been fairing to well state-side, but in Brazil, she is an EPIC star. Her Foreigner cover, I Want To Know What Love Is, a song that barely got ANY airplay here in the US, has been on the Brazilian charts for 20 consecutive weeks - at the #1 spot!! WHAT?!?! The song has received the honor of being the longest chart-topper song in the countries history! That's just crazy! They must really like their remixes! Congrats MiMi! A Melrose Place Reunion We Actually Kind Of Want To Watch!! Posted: 09 Mar 2010 05:05 PM PST Ugh. This honestly makes us just want the old version back on soooo bad. The basically EFFED reboot of Melrose Place is gathering familiar faces from the original series for one last hurrah before the CW cancels this mess faster than they evicted ASSlee Simpson!! The March 30th episode reunites Amanda Woodward with other mid-90s favorites Jo Reynolds, Michael Mancini, and Jane Andrews!! If it weren't such a sad reminder to how much better the original was, we'd BE LOVING IT!! In case anyone is still interested - which we DOUBT - here's some dirt on why the gang is all back together! SPOILERS! Thomas Calabro, who plays Michael, says: "We have a bit of a reunion episode coming up. There are a couple of old characters in a scene in the show. It involves at least two girls I slept with and one I didn't…Actually there's a thread between me and one of those characters that goes through the entire show. It's not just a scene." And a source at the show said: "Michael Mancini is there threatening to out Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen), Jane is there to find out why Amanda hasn't fired Ella (Katie Cassidy) yet and Jo has found out Amanda is up to no good again and confronts her. But they do have fun reuniting and Michael realizes he may have made a mistake letting Jane go." UGH. That ALMOST makes us want to watch it now. Which is probably why the producers smartly brought everyone back - they must be DESPERATE to keep it on the air. Unfortunately, we think that the only bitches worth watching are Heather Locklear and the FIERCE Katie Cassidy, but even they can't make up for the rest of the show's BOOOOORING stories. What do U think?? Do U think Melrose Place is worth saving??

Two Of The World's Oldest People Pass Away Only Hours Apart Posted: 09 Mar 2010 05:00 PM PST This is kind of a bummer. Two of the oldest people in the world passed away this past Sunday - and only HOURS apart. What are the odds of that??! Mary Joesphine Ray, who was the oldest living person in the USA, died at 114 in New Hampshire. She apparently had remained ACTIVE until about two weeks before her passing! AMAZING! Her granddaughter, Katherine Ray, said: "She just enjoyed life. She never thought of dying at all. She was planning for her birthday party." Daisey Bailey, who was just a month shy of 114, died hours later in Detroit. She was unfortunately suffering from dementia. L. Stephen Coles, director of the Gerontology Research Group, said: "It's very rare that two of our supercentenarians die on the same day." Yeah, seriously. WOW. So, so sad. It must be hard to outlive your family and friends, but we hope they both lived full and happy lives! We sincerely hope Mary and Daisey are somewhere at peace. [Image via AP Images.]

Precious Actress Gets A New Job!! Posted: 09 Mar 2010 04:45 PM PST Oh!!! This sounds so good!! Suck it, Howard Stern! Gabourey Sidibe, the Oscar-nominated star of Precious, has just signed on to be a reccuring guest star on a new Showtime series starring Laura Linney and Oliver Platt!! The half hour dark comedy, called The Big C, revolves around Cathy (played by Linney) a Connecticut wife and mom who reclaims her life after she is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Sidibe will reportedly be portraying a student in Cathy's class who has some major 'tude. We will TOTALLY be checking this out!! Not only are Linney and Sidibe FANTASTIC, but the show definitely sounds like a great addition to the Showtime line-up!! What do U think?? Will U be watching The Big C?? [Image via WENN.]

Spartacus Star Diagnosed With Cancer Posted: 09 Mar 2010 04:22 PM PST Oh no! Andy Whitfield, the star of the HOMOlicious series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma! Poor thing!! So scary!! The actor discovered the cancer during a routine check up, and production of the show's second season has been postponed while he undergoes treatment. According to the Starz network, Whitfield was lucky enough to catch the cancer early, and it is completely treatable. Phew! Will.i.am's is sending kids to college with his i.am scholarship fund, coming up with the idea after receiving a big paycheck for deejaying a couple years ago. He explains: "I did the math and I could send three kids to school. It's one thing to make it – and you've got your own apartment, or house, or car – and you keep it for you. That's not making it. Making it is spreading it." "You watch the news and you've got Obama talking about our health reform, you got Al Qaeda, you have the economy, and nobody's talking about education. And that is the scariest, because we could have a nation full of dummies." Good point — education is SO important! In addition to receiving their tuition paid, the scholarship recipients also get the opportunity for an internship at Dipdive.com, will.i.am's social networking site and a job there after graduation. This year the scholarship fund will offer at least FIVE new four-year scholarships to students who wish to study film and television, motion graphics and animation, journalism and computer science. Amazing Race Contender Investigated For Police Cocaine Ring! Posted: 09 Mar 2010 04:07 PM PST Crooked cops! One of the Rhode Island police officers competing in the current season of The Amazing Race has been put on "desk duty" after being suspected of involvement in a police-run cocaine ring! Louie Stravato is being investigated in the "large-scale" cocaine distribution operation and three other officers were arrested in a sting operation! Stravato was not arrested, but he along with 4 other cops have been assigned to desk work while the investigation continues. Our beloved Snooki and her personal trainer/potential famewhoring boyfriend of one month, Emilio Masella, exchanged their first I love you's to each other on Valentine's Day!! The poor man's DJ Pauly D Masella says: "We both started feeling it at the same time. I said it to her when she got to my house and saw everything I got her … flowers, teddy bears, her favorite candies (she likes gummi bears), chocolate … I [also] got her a bottle of Cristal and she didn't know what it was, so I made her look it up! Since then, it's been amazing. We had a romantic getaway [two weeks ago] in New York City and stayed at the W — the hotel was amazing — and went skating at Rockefeller Center. She just wanted to get away." We're not sure how we feel about him - he hopped on board the Snooki Express at a pretty opportune time, and one month is pretty fast to start fist pumping the L word!! This quote also sent up a red flag for us!! "I'm trying to train her, but she's always on the road. I wrote up a diet for her. I'm trying to get her to start dieting and start training. I've been living her life, so I'm trying to get her [to see mine]." Not cool!! If you're so in love with her, you shouldn't be trying to change her!! Tread lightly, Emilio!
