The Basterds Come Out On Top

Don't worry, Harvey Weinstein.

Quentin Tarantino just saved your butt, big time.

Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds is expected to bring in $35 million at the U.S. box office sales over the course of the weekend, saving Basterds' production company, The Weinstein Company, from sliding into bankruptcy!

Critics anticipated the film, starring Brad Pitt, to tank at the box office considering Tarantino's last film, Grindhouse was a total flop and Basterds was less-than-well received at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Guess Harvey's excessive promotion of the film worked out for the better!

Bitches lucked out!

Did U see the movie???? Thoughts???????

From The Desk Of JoJo

JoJo is clearing up all the legal dramz, y'all!

Upon the announcement that Jo will be suing her record label, Da Family Entertainment, to be let out of her contract + $500k in damages for putting her in "musical limbo," so to say.

Da Family Entertainment has refused to release her from her contract, but won't let the poor girl put out a new album!

JoJo has taken to her offical blog to discuss the matter at hand and clear up any rumors floating around!

Writes Jo:

"When I sat down to write this blog I turned on one of my favorite albums, Jill Scott's "Who is Jill Scott?", thinking it might mellow me out, calm me down, and give me the focus to articulate all that I want to say. After all, for me, music has the power to change my mood and help me through every time in my life. Music can/will/has/does make me happy/sad/mad/passionate/energetic/etc. Music is my life. The thought of not being able to express myself through music is devastating to me!

Recently I had to make one of the toughest decisions in my career thus far. It's a long drawn out story, but I wont bore you with all the gory details… lol.

For the past year and a half I've been diligently cooperating with my record label(s) so I can have the opportunity to continue with my career and do what I love the most; create music and sing. I've been a patient team player and have done everything that was asked and/or expected of me. As you may already know, my record company has been going through a major transition and unfortunately all of the artists on the label have been forced to sit on the sidelines and wait. I exhausted every option and exercised much patience before reaching my final decision to file a formal complaint with the court.

My situation is a bit a-typical. It is not a case where the artist loves the material they are making, is set in his or her ways, will not take direction or advice, and will not cooperate with the label. This is NOT the case at all. I've been blessed to receive great feedback from the record company in response to the music I've been delivering. But unfortunately I have become a victim of industry politics that honestly have nothing to do with me personally or professionally. Because of this, I am willing to fight for what I love and ultimately for the chance to regain control of my livelihood and my life.

I cant wait for the day when I can share the music that me and the album's contributors have created. I am so anxious to get back to what really matters. I didn't get into this industry for anything else other than my absolute passion for and love of MUSIC. At 12 years old when my mom and I signed the contracts, I could never have imagined that there would be so many other, far less attractive aspects to this business. However, at the end of the day I hold no animosity towards my record company(s). I learned from an early age that this is a business and it is NOT personal.

I love and appreciate every single person who has stuck by me and supported me through these trying times, particularly my fans. I love you guys so much and I couldn't get through this without you. As I've mentioned in previous blogs, I really look forward to speaking more candidly about this time in my life and most importantly, delivering the music that has taken such a long time to come out. I will not rest until my goals are actualized.

Thanks again for your encouragement and your patience!

Alleged Father Of MJ's Children Speaks Out

The godfather to Michael Jackson's children and alleged biological father is now saying he may be the father to all of the Jackson children!

Mark Lester appeared on NBC's Today Show Friday morning with his daughter, Harriet, to show the similarities between her and Paris Jackson, and to state that he may be the father of Prince and Blanket as well!

"There's a possibility that one, or all - very unlikely all - but one of those kids may be mine," Lester told Today's Matt Lauer.

He explained to Lauer that Michael was "very nervous" about going through with the "act" of creating a child, so he jokingly said to Jackson, "Look Michael, if you don't want to do it I could do it for you."

What a pal!

Lester continued: "When I gave it I made a decision that that was it. I had given something as a gift and I didn't want anything I return for it. That was it. End of story."

So why is he talking everyone's ear off about it now???

Mark claims that the story was going to break in the UK, and he would rather talk about his sperm donation himself than have the rumors continue to escalate in the press.

Even if Lester is the biological father of the Jackson children, he still considers Paris, Blanket and Prince Michael's children.

"I must stress though that those kids are Michael Jackson's children - they are with the family, they are in the place where they should be," said Lester.

Mark hopes that once the media circus dies down, he'll be ale to "remain in contact" with the children because his children get along "so well" with the Jackson kids and would like to "remain as friends."

Lester doesn't seem so $$$$$$-hungry after all! Or is he???

Hef's Ex Wife Says Pay Up!

Big trouble at the Playboy Mansion!

Hugh Hefner's ex-wifey and mother of his two songs, Kimberly Conrad, is suing her former husband for over $5 mil!

Although Conrad and Hef were never legally divorced, Hugh agreed to a prenup which has been tossing $$$$$$ Kim's way for years now and allowed the former Mrs. Hefner to reside in the house next to the infamous Playboy mansion with their two sons for the past 10 years.

Hef decided to put Conrad's house on the market this year and threw the prenup out the window, telling Kimberly that she had nine months to vacate the premises.

Ouch!

Conrad is now suing Hef for more than $5 million for breaking the amendment added to the prenup after the separation.

If it's in writing - Hef's screwed!

JoJo Doesn't Want To Stay, She Wants To Go Now

JoJo is not only pissed at her record company - she's suing mad!

The 18-year-old singer has slapped Da Family Entertainment with a $500,000 suit because the label refuses to let her out of her contract, even though they won't let the singer release a new album!

Dumb.

JoJo's lawsuit not only asks for the half a mil in damages; she'd also like to be released from her contract with the scumbags.

Smart move!

The Lutheran Church Allows Gays To Serve As Ministers!

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has lifted the ban denying sexually active gays and lesbians the right to serve as ministers!!!

Bravo!!!!

The ban had previously prohibited members of the gay and lesbian community who were not celibate from becoming ministers for the church, but now gays and lesbians in "committed relationships" may be hired by ELCA congregations as ministers!

An impressive 68% of the 1,000 members of ECLA's national assembly agreed to lift the ban in a vote taken on Friday.

Although many members of the clergy are troubled by the ECLA's decision, the fight for equal rights in the clergy overruled the naysayers' beliefs.

Said Rev. Leslie Williamson of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plains, Ill: ”I have seen these same-gender relationships function in the same way as heterosexual relationships — bringing joy and blessings as well as trials and hardships. 'The same-gender couples I know live in love and faithfulness and are called to proclaim the word of God as are all of us.”

This is one giant step in the right direction!

Kobe's Housekeeper Cries Wolf?

Kobe Bryant's former housekeeper has slapped Bryant and his wife with a major lawsuit!

But the Bryants have filed legal papers calling their former employee out!

Maria Jimenez has filed a suit against her former employers stating Kobe's wife Vanessa was "incredibly abusive and disrespectful" to her, constantly screaming at Jiminez and even making her "put her hand in a bag of dog feces to retrieve a tag from her blouse."

Ick!

In legal docs filed with the court, Bryant says Jimenez's allegations are completely false - they paid their former housekeeper $50k a year, "lavished her with gifts" and gave her paid vacation time to visit her family in Peru.

Minus the gifts, aren't those all the normal perks that come with working full-time????

Such a saint, that Kobe Bryant!
