| Ringling Bros. Beats Its Elephants! Posted: 22 Jul 2009 05:15 PM PDT Ringling Bros. circus beats its elephants! Footage recorded by an undercover PETA employee shows elephant trainers beating the animals with bull hooks across the head, legs, and body. The trainers are also seen cursing the animals. So awrful! PETA vice president Daphna Nachminovitch said that their undercover agent "witnessed these elephants being beaten for no apparent reason." Ringling Bros. said they could not comment on the video because it had not been viewed yet, but they did say that "PETA is an animal rights extremist group…We are very proud of our animal care, we are committed to the care of all our animals partly through our conservation programs at the Ringling Bros. Center for Elephant Conservation…We have 139 years of experience of working with Asian elephants." This is not the first time that Ringling Bros. has faced scrutiny for their elephant treatment. The Pivert better lay off the fish for good, because he's just signed up for hosting duties for WWE's Monday Night Raw alongside Shaquille O'Neal. According to the WWE, "each week 'celebrities' from the world of sports, television, music and film take control of the most-watched regularly scheduled program on cable television" which includes the likes of Seth Green and ZZ Top. We all recall when Yankovic did Eat It, his take on Michael Jackson's Beat It, and Fat, his take on MJ's Bad. But it seems the You're Beautiful singer, James Blunt, wants no part of Yankovic's "flattery." Weird Al is getting ready to release another one of his greatest hits CD this fall, but it seems he'll have to do it without Blunt's parody song he wrote and performed, You're Pitiful. Which is lame since reports state Blunt had originally agreed to allow the song to be parodied, but it was his record label, Atlantic Records, who pulled the plug. Weird Al even took to his Twitter page yesterday to share his rejection notice from Blunt's manager. Yankovic wrote:

We guess Ashley Olsen wanted to be comfortable on her flight to Los Angeles today. So she dressed like a homeless person in a baggy grey sweatshirt and those pants that look about two sizes too big for her. We can forgive this, though, as we know it was probably for the flight. But there is absolutely no excuse for those clogs, Heidi! Go yodel those hideous things off a cliff! What in the world were you thinking? Even Crocs would have been better! Marc Jacobs wants to keep your kids well dressed no matter what the season. With that in mind, he is expanding his Little Marc Jacobs collection to include a swimwear line. There will be about fifty pieces of swimwear, including Little Miss Marc cover-ups and suits, and Little Mister Marc trunks. He is aiming to launch by resort season 2010. And that shiz is probably not gonna be cheap and not available at your local Wal-Mart! The vision for the line is said to be a combination of the Little Miss and Little Mister clothing already in existence, as well as the Marc Jacobs ready-to-wear swimwear for grown ups. Though Tori Amos has dabbled in Yuletide carols, could a full length album of holiday tunes be on the way for the musician? Though there's been no official word from Amos or her people, Universal Republic lists an album titled Christmas from her with a November release. That would certainly be interesting! Wanna know how Taylor Lautner beefed up and achieved his hot bod in such a short amount of time for New Moon??? Lautner shares his workout and nutrition secrets in the August issue of Interview magazine. The actor, most well known for the role of Jacob Black in Twilight, went from a men's small to a men's large in a matter of months! "I was in the gym five days a week, two hours a day," says Lautner. "At one point, I was going seven days straight. I had put on a lot of weight, and then i started losing it drastically, so I was worried. It turned out I was overworking myself." Not good, bb!! The Twilight hottie took a break from over-exercising and channeled a majority of his energy into 'watching' his diet by upping his calorie intake! "The hardest thing for me was the eating. At one point I had to shove as much food in my body as possible to pack on calories. My trainer wanted me to do six meals a day and not go two hours without eating. If I would cheat on eating one day, I could tell, I'd drop a few pounds," recalls Taylor. Lautner's diet doesn't sound that horrible to us! |
