Believe in the power of Povich! Judge Wade McCree in Detroit, Michigan, does! Judge McCree has begun sentencing men who have been charged with not paying child support to watch Maury Povich's talk show, Maury, at least once a month to stay out of the clinker! "Some of these men in my court watch the show and see how ridiculous some of the deadbeats look, and then they realize it's them," explained Judge McCree. So what does Maury think about his show being used as a learning tool for the deadbeat dads? "That is being very creative, and sometimes you have to be creative when you have a lot of social issues," Povich laughed to reporters. With Michael Jackson's first major comeback in years soon approaching, the King of Pop is looking for some new dance moves! And set to help Jacko with his steps is none other than Disney favorite Kenny Ortega. Ortega is responsible for directing the hit Disney flick High School Musical and it's sequels. He was also in charge of creating the dance routines in the iconic film Dirty Dancing. And it turns out the two have some history. Kenny worked with Jackson back on his Dangerous and HIStory world tours. So, just what does Ortega think of Wacko? He says, "To be invited to partner with him again is a dream come true. He is a creative mastermind and inspires every one of us to climb to new places and conquer new challenges. He is the most significant artist and entertainer of our generation." Sounds like someone is getting a hefty paycheck! The first show is scheduled to begin July 8th in London. As for the dancers, they'll consist of 10 individuals, two women and 8 men, who'll be joining Jacko on stage. And, according to AEG's Randy Phillps, the concert promoter, Jacko will be performing 18 to 22 songs and has a show budget of around $20 million. Adding that "The stage set, choreography, costumes, lighting, effects and overall production will be of the highest standard and are pushing state-of-the-art." [Image via WENN.] |

We're pretty sure Kevin Smith is head over heels for Star Trek's Chris Pine after reading the interview he gave to MTV News! Smith's words speak for themselves, dudes! "That dude is astounding. To be able to involve Kirk without doing a Shatner impression? THat performance was so electric and so wonderful to watch," Kevin gushed. Oh, he's not done! The Clerks director continued babbling, "That dude is an instant movie star… That dude is gonna work forever. He's so good and effortless in his delivery." And our personal favorite Smith-ism??? So while the artist has managed to get off the bad shizz while on permanent vacation in St Lucia, according to her father Mitch, "it's alcohol instead of hard drugs" now. He also said that after having seen his daughter come so close to death twice before on account of drugs, "to see her walking, smiling" is a relief, but one that comes cautiously since Mitch realizes that it's ultimately Amy's decision to get better. Fans who shelled out big $$$ to see Bruce Springsteen in concert on May 18th in Washington D.C. have found themselves ticketless! Ticket reselling giants TicketsNow, who are owned by Ticketmaster, sold a number of "premium seats" to Springsteen fans, but oversold the concert in the process! Shady!!!!!!!!! This isn't the first time Springsteen has run into trouble with TicketsNow and Ticketmaster. When the tickets went on sale for his new tour back in February, buyers were automatically redirected to the TicketsNow website if the fan's seating selection was sold out on Ticketmaster!! And paid up 3x the price for the tix! Not okay! The premium ticket holders whose seats were oversold in D.C. have been offered both refunds and tickets for The Boss' show in the cheap seats, but the whole debacle could have been avoided so easily! Very happy news for funny lady Wanda Sykes! The 45-year-old came out publicly as a lesbian last November. And, now. Wanda and her wife, Alex, are proud parents! Sykes' wife gave birth to healthy twins, a boy and a girl, on April 27th. Their little boy Lucas Claude and daughter Olivia Lou are said to be doing well.
