Kenny Chesney On His Quickie Marriage: "I Pushed Renee Away!" Posted: 13 Feb 2009 07:45 PM CST In the new issue of Playboy, Kenny Chesney talks candidly about the demise of his four month marriage in 2005 to actress Renee Zellweger. They met in January and married in May! It had doom written all over it!! He acknowledges that he pushed Renee away and it looks like being hunted by the paparazzi had something to do with it: "I never really had any kind of attention from the paparazzi. It went from zero to the complete other end of the spectrum. … I thought it would be like that all the time. … I panicked. … I ran. … I pushed her away. … I just didn't want to be married to her anymore." Chesney also expressed anger at the assertion that he's 'gay', a rumor that started floating around because marriage annulment papers state 'fraud' as the reason for its termination: "I talked to my attorney and her attorney. In order for us to get an annulment, the legal papers could claim either physical abuse, which wasn't true, or three or four other things that also weren't true. The best thing we could put in there was fraud. So I said, 'All right, do it. Whatever…'…What guy who loves girls wouldn't be angry about that shit? I didn't sign up for that. Peter Gabriel Tells Oscar Producers to Shove It Posted: 13 Feb 2009 07:15 PM CST Peter Gabriel was asked by Oscar producers to perform the Academy Award-nominated song he penned for the movie Wall-E, Down to Earth, but the music man said hellz no after finding out that he'd only have 60 seconds as part of a medley of other nominees to do his thing. Here's his diplomatic statement he sent to the show organizers: "I was delighted when "Down to Earth" was nominated for an Oscar. I was also pleased to have been asked to perform the song in the Oscar ceremony. However, in recent discussions with the Producers, it became clear that despite there being only three nominees, only 60-65 seconds was being offered, and that was also in a medley of the three songs. I don't feel that is sufficient time to do the song justice, and have decided to withdraw from performing. I fully respect and look forward to the Producers' right to revamp the show. Even though song writers are small players in the film making process, they are just as committed and work just as hard as the rest of the team and I regret that this new version of the ceremony is being created, in part, at their expense." Real Life Gossip Girl Coming To Bravo! Posted: 13 Feb 2009 06:00 PM CST Could a real life version of Chuck Bass be out there??? Bravo can only hope! The cable network, notorious for their reality programming of the rich and not-so-famous, are in the works to produce a Gossip Girl-esque reality show following the lives of private-school attendees in New York City. The only concern for the network are the problems that come hand in hand with filming minors and their hard pAArtying habits! Reports are backing up Bravo's fears, reminiscing of the "controversy [that] arose during Laguna Beach when the underage cast members were shown drinking what was presumably alcohol at the house parties featured in the show." Whatevs!! It'll make great TV! Both MTV and CBS have previously attempted similar shows, but both networks failed in pushing the series past the pre-production stage. It seems like he may have dropped a few pounds recently too. Jessica was spotted earlier this week looking a bit more like she did before the holidays. And Thursday night, Simpson opened up for Rascal Flatts at Madison Square Garden in New York. Thankfully, this time she opted not to wear those hideous high-waisted pants again.
