| At Least 49 Killed In Deadly Upstate New York Airplane Crash Posted: 12 Feb 2009 11:26 PM CST Such a horrible tragedy. Continental Airlines Express flight 3407 (operated by Colgen Air) from Newark, NJ, to Buffalo, NY, crashed into a home in Clarence, NY - a suburb of Buffalo - around 10:20 P.M. Eastern on Thursday evening. According to early reports from the Buffalo News, the dead include 44 passengers, four crew members and a person on the ground. Crew members had reported mechanical problems as they approached Buffalo Niagara International Airport. No reason is known at this time as to what caused the horrific crash, which started a huge fire in the home. Our thoughts go out to the families of all those lost. So heartbreaking! |

How did we become involved in the show??? Well, thanks to the genius that is Jamie King. The brilliant director/choreographer has worked with Madonna on all her tours this decade and he is the mastermind behind Britney's Circus tour. We had never met or even spoken to Jamie before. But, he somehow got ahold of our contact info and gave Perez a call. King told us that he had a dream about Perez and wanted us to be a part of The Circus. His dream is the video we shot last weekend, which is the opening video for the entire show. Britney was down with the idea and we, of course, said yes! We are thrilled to be a part of it! The show will be a culmination of a year of hard work for the pop star. We've seen a bit of the rehearsals, and the best way we can describe it is sensory overload and amazing. The show is not only "in the round" but there are three circus rings with action going on in all of them - dancers, acrobats, aerialists and more. It's major! Christina Aguilera is apparently hard at work on her 4th album, and she's working with some super fucking awesome people! 2006's Back to Basics was a very retro-sounding affair. And it seems like she has a killer strategy for the follow-up! Aguilera has confirmed that she has been working with Australian singer (and Perez fave) Sia since January. It has also been confirmed that Christina has been speaking with electropop group Ladytron regarding a collaboration. Another collab rumor floating around has been one with Goldfrapp, although nothing has been confirmed yet. If it's true, this sounds like it's going to be an amazing album! Abe Lincoln's memory is living strong these days! On Thursday, the fancy auction house, Christie's, sold one of the old president's handwritten manuscripts for $3.44 million. Lincoln trumps the recession! The sale of the handwritten 1864 speech set a new auction record for any American historical document. Thursday's sale was just slightly higher than the previous record of $3.40 million set last year, also for a n1864 Lincoln document. The manuscript was sold to an anonymous phone bidder. Proceeds from the sale will go toward a new wing for the Southworth Library Association in Dryden, N.Y. The recently sold document was given to the library in 1926. This stuff should be going into a museum! Peace activist Mahatma Gandhi's trademark leather sandals, steel-rimmed glasses, his watch, and a bowl and plate he used will be auctioned in New York on March 5th. According to reports, the Zenith pocket watch dates to about 1910 and was given by Gandhi to his beloved grandniece Abha Gandhi, in whose arms he died when he was assassinated in January 1948. The Ghandi items are expected to make the auction house somewhere between $20,000 and $30,000 - but likely much more. Hope whoever successfully bids on the stuff will be inclined to share it with the world rather than just locking it up in a vault somewhere! [Image via AP Photo.] |

After the Grammys this weekend, Jennifer Hudson had a lot to celebrate. And her fiance couldn't have been more supportive of her - that's why he spent a lot of time talking about himself instead! Hudson got engaged to former reality TV star David Otunga last September. In case you don't know who he is, and you probably don't, Otunga is some reject that was trying to win the reality contest I Love New York 2, by trying to hook up with Tiffany Pollard. Classy. And now it seems the once reality TV conestant wants to become a wrestler. During the Grammy Awards this past weekend, he was even sporting a black eye. The NY loser is training to join the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) roster. Otunga says that he loves wrestling, adding, "It's a childhood dream. It's so great to finally have a career that I love." And what little does he say about J Huds? "She supports everything I do," he reveals. What's next? He's gonna audition for Idol too??? For the first time ever, a musical act will perform 5 nights in a row on the Late Show with David Letterman. And of course, the band selected to do so is U2. The band will guest on the show March 2nd through March 6th, and with their new album, No Line on the Horizon, dropping March 3rd, we're almost certain to be subjected to the musical monstrosity that is Get On Your Boots.
