| Michael Lohan Calls A Truce - For Now! Posted: 29 Dec 2008 06:20 PM CST
And he speaks! AGAIN! We guess Michael Lohan's "threat" to saMAN Ronson actually worked. LezLo's father said last week, "If one more blog or statement is made people will know the entire truth. I will release emails, texts, depositions and audio tapes that will prove everything I have been saying all along. If Sam wants to play, I am ready. But she better be ready too!" But after constant bickering in the press and on BiHan's personal blog, it seems father and daughter have called a truce. Well, at least Poppa Lohan has. On his new blog, Poppa Lohan says, "There is a truce between Lindsay and I, so please stop adding any fuel to the fire. I respectfully ask that all sources, so called friends and mouthpieces refrain from any more comments or suggestions on her blog." WTF? Media-loving Lohan is asking the media to leave them alone? Has hell-frozen over? What's going on here???? [Image via WENN.] |

Last year, it was announced that Jay-Z would be opening up his own hotel, J Hotel, on New York's West Side. Cuz when you have the amount of money he has, you might as well invest and try different things! But, unfortunately, it seems the bad economy has ruined his plans. Cue the violins! Apparently, developer Charles Blaichman (of Soho House) can't secure the proper financing for the hotel. So, instead they're just going to try and rent out the former Time Warner Cable warehouse. It seems Blaichman is having problems borrowing an estimated $370 million for three hotels, one of which would have been a venture with Jay-Z. So what's a rapper to do now???? |
| Piven Not Missed By His Former Co-Stars Posted: 29 Dec 2008 05:55 PM CST
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, Entourage douche Jeremy Piven abruptly quit the Broadway revival of Speed The Plow, apparently due to "high levels of mercury." Shortly after, his co-stars Raul Esparza and Elizabeth Moss, decided to talk shit about Piven on stage after a show. And, now with Norbert Leo Butz taking over Piven's role, the cast couldn't be happier about the new addition - and that the Pivert is long gone! In a new interview, Esparza saus that Leo Butz had brought the show "a real sense of trio." Adding, "Jeremy didn't need to do anything, and the audience would automatically be on his side because he is so well known." However, he added that what Butz contributes is "a theater actor's ability to tell a story well, to play in the ensemble." He then said Butz is "good at being part of the three of us." Clearly talking about the former relationship with Jeremy Piven. But now with Piven's departure, the ticket sales have gone down. Esparza says, "We were talking about extending, and now it's a matter of surviving." Better to survive and be happy than a painful extension, we say! [Image via WENN.] |

| It's War! Watchmen Production Obstacles May Be Prolonged, Fox To Squash Film! Posted: 29 Dec 2008 05:04 PM CST
The film adaptation of Alan Moore's and Dave Gibbons's Watchmen has been mired in production problems since the comic was published in 1986. Years later, on the verge of release, Watchmen is facing production obstacles. 20th Century Fox is pursuing an order to delay the film's release. Fox is claiming that it never fully relinquished the rights to the comic and so Warner Bros. Watchmen is copyright infringement. U.S. District Court Judge Gary Feess agreed with Fox and said that he plans on holding a trial January 20th. Warner Bros. is putting up a fight, claiming that Fox isn't entitled to distribution. Reminiscent of a comic book plot we will have to stay tuned to find out whether or not Watchmen will see its March release date! |
