Who exactly is Smurfette, you might ask? She was created by the archenemy of the Smurfs, wicked sorcerer Gargamel, in an effort to use her as a saboteur against the Smurfs. Gargamel's plan failed though when Papa Smurf took pity and reversed her spell, turning Smurfette into a real, live Smurf! From that point on, she became much more attractive, and became desired by ALL the Smurfs! Watch out, Russell Brand! Well it turns out ABC has just picked up the pilot for the new comedy, Man Up. The bidding war came down to CBS and ABC, but ABC finally got the show which centers on a guy "fighting for his manhood in a world of women." James David Manning, the head pastor at ATLAH World Missionary Church in New York City, posted an unbelievably hateful video on YouTube that encourages the use of anti-gay slurs. His reasoning? The words do a better job at getting someone's attention than if you were to use "homosexual". Wow. Unbelievable! Thankfully YouTube has removed the video for violating their hate speech policy. Here's what Jessica Alba has said about her thoughts on actors and scripts: "Good actors never use the script unless it's amazing writing. All the good actors I've worked with, they all say whatever they want to say." Here's what screenwriter John August had to say in response: "I have to believe she was misquoted, or excerpted in some unflattering way … Oh, Jessica. Where to start? … Following your logic, you've never been in a movie with both good actors and amazing writing. That may be true, but it might hurt the feelings of David Wain, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. … Screenwriters can be your best friends. We are pushovers for attractive people who pay attention to us. I wrote that bathtub scene in Big Fish because Jessica Lange made brief eye contact with me. So if you're not getting great writing — and honestly, you're not — ask to have lunch with the screenwriter. I've seen you on interviews. You're charming. That charm could work wonders." We must say, John August makes some valid points, and he DID write the screenplay for Big Fish, which was an excellent film. Sorry to say it Jessica, but you DID act in Valentine's Day and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and The Eye and The Love Guru. Maybe it's not a terrible idea to thumb through that screenplay, every once in a while. Just a thought! Team August or Team Alba?

Homophobic Assistant Attorney General Fired For Harassing/Stalking Gay College Student! Posted: 08 Nov 2010 04:20 PM PST Excellent! That man had NO business being in the position that he was! Andrew Shirvell, the Michigan assistant state attorney general who recently came under fire for relentlessly harassing University of Michigan student body president Chris Armstrong because of his sexual preference, was let go this afternoon for not only his behavior, but for lying to investigators during his disciplinary hearing! Attorney General Mike Cox explained in a statement that Shirvell was fired for "conduct unbecoming a state employee, especially that of an assistant attorney general," and continued: "To be clear, I refuse to fire anyone for exercising their First Amendment rights, regardless of how popular or unpopular their positions might be. However, Mr. Shirvell repeatedly violated office policies, engaged in borderline stalking behavior, and inappropriately used state resources, our investigation showed. The cumulative effects of his use of state resources, harassing conduct that is not protected by the First Amendment, and his lies during the disciplinary conference all demonstrate adequate evidence of conduct unbecoming a state employee. Ultimately, Mr. Shirvell's conduct has brought his termination from state service." According to the investigation, Shirvell: - Showed up at Armstrong's home three separate times, including once at 1:30 a.m. "That incident is especially telling because it clearly was about harassing Mr. Armstrong, not engaging in free speech," the statement said. - "Engaged in behavior that, while not perhaps sufficient to charge criminal stalking, was harassing, uninvited and showed a pattern that was in the everyday sense, stalking." - Harassed Armstrong's friends as they were socializing in Ann Arbor. - Called Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office, Armstrong's employer, in an attempt to "slander Armstrong and ultimately attempting to cause Pelosi to fire Armstrong. - Attempted to "out" Armstrong's friends as homosexual — several of whom aren't gay. Absolutely unbelievable! This man doesn't just need to be fired - he needs to be put away somewhere! However, we're happy that justice was served and hopefully now Shirvell will leave that poor kid alone! So unfair! Good riddance, we say!
