Eliza Dushku Reveals Why She Never Got Her Own Buffy Spin-Off Posted: 27 Sep 2010 05:20 PM PDT When Sarah Michelle Gellar hung up her stake seven years ago, there were a whirlwind of rumors about how the franchise might live on with out its blondie beauty. The most intriguing of the rumors was that Eliza Dushku would reprise her role as the twisted sister slayer Faith in her own spin-off series. That never came to be and a lot of fans were pretty disappointed. Now, Eliza explains why the show never happened in a new interview, blaming timing and her gut for the demise of the show. She reveals: "After I finished the show, I'd withdrawn from school and followed up with a couple of films like "Bring It On", but I'd had such an awesome experience working with Joss I was ready to go down that road again. So I met with Joss and Tim Minear and spoke about the potential for a Faith spin-off. But Buffy had just gone on seven years and Joss was really straightforward: he couldn't play the kind of day-to-day role he had on Buffy – he had his family. I love Tim Minear, I trust him wholeheartedly and it wasn't that I felt without Joss it wasn't right, but it was a contributing factor. On top of it, I had just played this character for almost five years, it felt like time to explore a different role. So I ended up making a decision that, though looking back I don't regret, in hindsight maybe the talks could have continued a bit longer. It's a question I've been asked a gazillion times: 'Why'd you do Tru Calling and not the Faith spin-off?' Thing is, even Joss was part of helping me make that decision. He said: 'I think you have to follow your gut, which is trying something different, and we'll stay friends so this isn't goodbye, this is until next time.'" Yeah, next time didn't work as well as you thought it might have. Should have stuck with doing a Faith spin-off. People would have really liked that. Course, if someone could kick some sense into the Buffster and get a movie underway, we'd consider that an apology! [Image via WENN.]

Dr. Dre Ditched Ice Cube During Recording Sessions Posted: 27 Sep 2010 05:00 PM PDT While Ice Cube was planning on including his collaboration with Dr. Dre on his new album, I am the West, after Dr. Dre went missing during the recording process Ice will likely exclude the tracks from the album. "Dre went M.I.A.; I don't know where he at. If y'all find him, tell him to give me a call," said Ice Cube. "It's cool, he went M.I.A. on Snoop too. Everybody wanna work with him, so it's up to him on who he wants to work with, who he don't wanna work with." Ice Cube also talked about how his relationship with Dre has changed since their days in the N.W.A. "It's a distant relationship. It's been distant ever since I left N.W.A., so I don't expect that to change. We all went our separate ways back then, we was youngsters. We're grown now. That is what it is. It reminds me of, like, somebody I hung out [with] in high school a lot, but now that you grown, you talk to every now and then. That's kind of how I look at it." Selena Gomez has made her admiration for Cheryl Tweedy no secret, and once again opened up about how big a fan she is of the UK pop star! She says: "I have listened to Girls Aloud but I fell in love through Cheryl, her music and her solo album [3 Words]. When I came here last time I had no idea who she was and then I left and I was like I oh my gosh I love her. I am a member of her fan site, they send me emails about what's going on in her life and X Factor. I'm a major fan, I'd love to work with her; that would be such a dream." MGMT Pressured To Revamp Style After Last Album Sucked Posted: 27 Sep 2010 04:30 PM PDT Guess it's time to pretend that your last album, Congratulations, never happened, guys! MGMT's record label, Columbia, is pressuring the band to change up their style, after bosses at their label as well as everyone else were unimpressed with their latest release. Looks like they're on board to de-suckify. Here's what Andrew Van-Wyngarden of the duo had to say about it: "I definitely think our music will change in the future because Congratulations is almost two years old now. We have some ideas and have been talking about possible directions of where to go next." More from Van-Wyngarden: "We are just in much more positive mental states than when we wrote Congratulations. We're less anxious. We've been looking at relationships with the label during the recording process and it's quite different this time. They'll be more involved and not give us as much freedom."
