In a few short weeks, the nation's population of geeks, nerds and their imaginary girlfriends will descend on San Diego for Comic-Con. To their relief, they won't be inundated with Twi-Hard fans like recent years as the Holy Trinity of Twilight is too busy to be bothered with the fans right now. (Plus, there really isn't anything new to report on Breaking Dawn.) Still, even without Robsten turning tween girls into crazies, there will still be TONS of media frenzy on the first day of the convention. Sources suggest that there is a distinct possibility that both Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be at Comic-Con. Both of their upcoming movies have slated panels for the first day - Angie's Salt and Brad's Megamind. Though no one from the convention or Team Brangelina will confirm their appearance, it would make sense that the biggest stars of both films would make a publicity appearance. Mel Gibson was recorded on tape threatening to bury Oksana Grigorieva in the rose garden of his mansion! A source close to Oksana reveals: "Mel made a series of serious and violent threats against Oksana. When things in their relationship started going badly and he made the first threats against her, Oksana decided she needed to protect herself. "She made the recordings and on one of them, Mel is heard telling Oksana, 'I will bury you in the rose garden,' which she believed to be a clear reference to killing her." The threat is on the 30 minutes of tape being submitted to a Los Angeles judge in their custody battle of baby daughter Lucia. Lawyers for Mel Gibson are meeting with the Sheriff's Department to present evidence that the actor is innocent of any crime against his ex, Oksana Grigorieva - and that she is guilty of extortion! Mel is alleging that Oksana tried to extort him by saying that she would sell tapes of their arguments. He also says he can prove that he is innocent of domestic violence, child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. Ha. We'd love to see what he has in store for them. J. Lo Cancels Performance In Northern Cyprus Posted: 09 Jul 2010 10:45 AM PDT Smart move. Whoever made this decision to begin with should be fired! Jennifer Lopez was scheduled to perform in Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus later this month. The problem is that particular part of the world is not recognized by either the United Nations or the European Union because it is currently occupied illegally by the Turkish military. As it is not recognized as an independent sovereign state, multiple Greek and Cypriot politicians were furious to hear claims that Lopez had agreed to perform at a swanky hotel in Northern Cyprus on July 24. But never fear Euro-cratics! J. Lo is not going ANYWHERE near Cyprus. Her rep cleared things up, saying: "Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse. After a full review of the relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the decision of management to withdraw from the appearance. This was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to the political realities of the region." Seriously, Jen. Sick Cheryl Tweedy Has Fluid In The Lungs Posted: 09 Jul 2010 10:00 AM PDT Poor thing! Cheryl Tweedy has been in the hospital since Sunday night battling malaria - and it's worse than we thought! "I've seen Cheryl's mum and Derek in there," claims a hospital source. "They stayed overnight last night. I overheard Derek on his phone saying she's got fluid on her lungs." The singer is still in intensive care and it is not known when she will released from the hospital. But it's Derek Hough who feels that it's his fault for her illness. He arranged their trip to Tanzania where she was bitten by an infected mosquito. Hough's stepfather, Aaron Nelson, said: "Derek feels guilty. He is very distressed about all this. He feels he has done this to her. He rang his mom yesterday in tears. Derek feels it's all his fault. He organised the holiday as something wonderful. For it to end up like this is terrible. He feels dreadful." Dr Martin Wiselka, consultant of infectious diseases at University Hospitals of Leicester, believes that Cheryl may have falciparum malaria, the most severe form on the disease and one most commonly found in Africa. He added: "The malaria travels around the body in the bloodstream and can affect other organs like the kidneys and liver. In severe cases it can lead to organ failure and this is how people die from malaria. The more parasites you have in your blood the more serious it is. If it is caught early then there are less parasites and I would have thought I has been caught reasonably early in her case. She will be in hospital until the malaria and the complications clear up, which is usually a matter of days, but it will take weeks to recover. Though Charlie Sheen was scheduled to accept his plea bargain in his criminal case on Monday, the hearing has now been moved to August 2nd. Why? Who the hell knows? You want answers from the American Justice System??? What's interesting is that if Charlie accepts his plea bargain on August 2nd, which includes 17-30 days in jail, he's going to have to call in sick to work the next day or something.
