We're only mildly disappointed with this news and only because we'll miss Zacquisha! Though John Waters had been commissioned and completed the script for a sequel to Hairspray, the movie has been canned by the studio. Hairspray director Adam Shankman confirmed the news, telling the press: "I'm going to kill that rumor now - that got killed. I was so happy with the first one, let's leave well enough alone. It's all good." No, it wasn't very good, the first one, we mean. That's probably why the second one will never come to be. But we agree, let's leave well enough alone. No need for theaters to be plagued with yet ANOTHER unnecessary sequel! |

They want her to take back her mink and FAST! PETA got word today that Brooke Shields lived out her "little girl's dream" and went to Denmark last March to design a mink coat. If Brooke's little trip didn't set them off, the comments she made to the press sure as hell did, as Brooke proudly boasted her love of fur and exclaimed she would "advocate" for younger generations to wear fur too. It took a little bit longer than we would have expected for PETA to respond, but when they did, it was pretty biting! On their website, the animal-rights organization posted this message:

Jack Nicholson attended Dennis Hopper's funeral in Taos, New Mexico today. The two were longtime friends and Jack got his first big break in Easy Rider alongside Dennis. Actors Dean Stockwell and Val Kilmer were also at the funeral. The service took place at the historic San Francisco de Asis church in Ranchos de Taos where Hopper lived in the early '80s. They need to knock this shiz off! Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub is recording a song. And what's worse is that it's gonna be a duet! Singer Lori Michaels was duped into writing and lending her voice to the track. "It's a song about having commitment issues — one person is leaving, the other person is staying," said Staub. "It's called 'Real Close' because you want to pull the person closer." And there will be FIVE versions of the song released! "For the main version, the vibe is very sexy, very raw," she continued. "There's going to be a dance mix, but the main version won't be dance." Although Lori claims she sand in an R&B band as a teen, she insisted that "it's been a long time since I exercised [my musical chops] but when I was sitting down going over Lori's music, this song grabbed me." Staub and Michaels met last year at an NYC Gay Pride event. They plan on collaborating again and making a music video for the song. Ugh. WTF?? Actress Q'orianka Kilcher - probably most famous for her portrayal of Pocahontas in the film The New World - was arrested yesterday after she tied herself to the White House fence and had her mother, Saskia Kilcher, pour a black substance all over her in protest of a Presidential visit to Peru! Kilcher, whose father is a Peruvian Indian, has been charged with disorderly conduct, while her mother is charged with defacing government property. A little intense, don't you think??
