Just because he's under house arrest in the Swiss Alps doesn't mean he has to quit his day job! The rights to Roman Polanski's new movie, The Ghost Writer, have been acquired by Twilight powerhouse, Summit Entertainment. Summit plans to release the film, an adaptation of The Ghost by Robert Harris, throughout North America in the first half of 2010. The Ghost Writer follows the story of a "former British Prime Minister [Pierce Brosnan]… who is holed up writing his memoirs on an island off the eastern seaboard of the U.S." When Brosnan's assistant dies, "a professional ghostwriter [Ewan McGregor] is sent out to help him finish the book." First Mel B, now Robbie Williams???? The upcoming season of X Factor is shaping up to be fabulous! Simon Cowell is reportedly bringing Williams on to be the 5th judge at panel - just one of a slew of demands Cowell has laid on ITV! The other requests, according to reports?
Cowell has thrown an ultimatum ITV's way; grant his requests by enlarging the show's budget by almost $500,000 a week or he'll pull X Factor off the air!! "A lot of things are going to change next year if we bring the show back. The show needs to change or it starts to fail," Simon told reporters on Saturday night. Cowell continued to explain: "I'm not looking for a pay rise. All I've asked for is an increase in budget… We need more people working on the show and that costs money. I need that commitment from ITV." Hey, he's got business sense! As far as bringing Robbie on as the 5th judge, Cowell says Robbie's "fun, he's got good instincts, he doesn't take himself too seriously and he's a fun guy to be around." Keep your hands to yourself! CSI: Miami star Jonathan Togo was arrested in Hollywood early Saturday morning! Togo had the silver cuffs slapped on him after LAPD responded to a 911 call claiming the CSI actor became physically violent with his girlfriend while they were arguing.
