Italian-Americans Protest MTV's New Jersey Shore! Posted: 24 Nov 2009 05:00 PM PST MTV just loves drama - no matter what the nationality!!! UNICO National, an Italian-American organization based in New Jersey, is fuming over the network's newest reality debacle, Jersey Shore. MTV claims the show captures the "hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos" who "keep their hair high, their muscles juiced and their fists pumping all summer long!" Love it! The organization believes the show is offensive and relies on crude stereotypes which highlight cursing, bad behavior and violence among guests at the beach house. UNICO President Andre DiMino calls the show "trash television." It wouldn't be the first for MTV! Maybe he hasn't seen The Hills!!! Watch the trailer (above) featuring all the stereotypical crazy!

Hollywood Stars Are Above The Law? Posted: 24 Nov 2009 04:00 PM PST As if people needed anymore reasons to hate on Kristin Cavallari. Turns out the reality TV vixen has charmed her way out of a hefty ticket and out of getting her car towed! While out to lunch yesterday in Hollywood with a friend, Cavallari apparently parked her BMW in a tow-away, no stopping zone. And when she headed out of the restaurant, she caught the cop writing her up a ticket and the tow-truck about ready to take her car. But after some time of Cavallari kissing ass pleading and being nice to the officer, she got to keep her car. Seriously? WTF?!? Who does she think she is? Arnold Schwarenegger?!? LiLo Gets Counseling! (Maybe.) Posted: 24 Nov 2009 03:45 PM PST Michael Lohan's scare tactics may have worked! According to reports, Lindsay Lohan has allegedly started seeing a counselor. Though the mentor is not specialist in one area, i.e. drugs or alcohol abuse, the source says Lindsay has started going as often as three times a week, just to have someone to talk to. The insider tells Life & Style magazine: "She goes two, sometimes three times a week. This is not a program or substance-abuse counsellor or police officer watching over her; it's someone to talk to in a confidential state. She knows, and everyone knows, this is a huge stepping-stone for her - get in there, talk to someone, figure out what's going on and then try to fix it. First comes the diagnosis." Hell, we could diagnosis her! That isn't the issue! We think what she really needs is someone in her life that isn't out to get her or use her for their own personal gain. FBI Reports Hate Crimes Against LGBT People Up By 11% In 2008 Posted: 24 Nov 2009 03:15 PM PST This is shocking! And sad! And upsetting! And NOT RIGHT!!!! The FBI is reporting that the number of victims of hate crimes based on sexual orientation increased by 11 percent in 2008. This is the third year in a row that the statistic has increased! The Human Rights Campaign, the largest civil rights org working to achieve LGBT equality, responded to the statistic today - saying: "These numbers are unacceptable. While it is so important that we have the new federal hate crimes law, it is critical to ensure that we continue working with the Department of Justice to ensure the safety of LGBT citizens. We have to prosecute each hate crime to the fullest extent of the law, but we also need to get at the roots. "When we don't know each other as human beings, ignorance breeds misunderstanding, which breeds hate, which too often this year led to violence. We have to keep fighting the prejudices and stereotypes that underlie these acts." ELEVEN percent is a huge number and we completely agree that it is unacceptable! Hopefully President Obama signing the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act into law will turn these statistics around!

Tyler Perry Gets Generous Posted: 24 Nov 2009 03:00 PM PST Madea has MILLIONS and now she is sharing the wealth. In honor of the organizations 100th anniversary, Tyler Perry has made a $1 million donation to the NAACP! The gift makes the largest donation ever given to a civil rights group from an individual and is said to be distributed to them over the next four years. NAACP leaders, of course, are praising Tyler for his generosity, calling his gift to them a "paradigm-shifting moment in black philanthropy." But Tyler feels it is the least he can do for a group that has done so much for his community. He said: "Had it not been for the perseverance and vision of the thousands who came before me in the 100 years of this legendary organization, I would not be in the position I am today. I am proud to be able to help in their mission to fight for the equality of all people, and to work towards the elimination of discrimination." How nice! [Image via WENN.]
