Eminem's Music Publisher And Apple Settle Lawsuit Posted: 02 Oct 2009 05:00 PM PDT That was pretty quick! A couple weeks ago we reported that Eminem's music publisher was going after Apple for the unauthorized sales of 93 tracks on iTunes, claiming a copyright violation. The suit has been settled and while the terms are confidential, Eight Mile Style LLC's attorney stated that "the case was settled to the satisfaction of all parties." Good for Fem! Anne Frank Captured On Film Posted: 02 Oct 2009 04:45 PM PDT This is the only piece of film footage containing the legendary diarist Anne Frank in existence. It was unearthed and given to her father in the 1950s from his neighbors. The video is very short and shows Anne leaning out the window of her Amsterdam home, watching a bride and groom on their big day. The clip has been kept at the Amsterdam museum, the Anne Frank House , but was released on YouTube in honor of the new Anne Frank Channel, which will feature videos and interviews about her life. These images were captured only a year before Anne and her family were forced into hiding. It's eerie and moving all the same time. Check out the piece of history above.

Santa Angelina Gives Back Posted: 02 Oct 2009 04:30 PM PDT Angelina Jolie traveled to Syria as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency with Brad Pitt to raise awareness of the Iraqi refugees residing there. They visited two refugee families in one of the poorest suburbs of capital city Damascus as well as meeting with President Bashar al-Assad and his wife Asma. Angie says: "Most Iraqi refugees cannot return to Iraq in view of the severe trauma they experienced there, the uncertainty linked to the coming Iraqi elections, the security issues and the lack of basic services. They will, therefore, be in need of continued support from the international community." Syria is making great strides in making sure health care and education is available to the refugees. No Worries For Vampy Girls! They're Off The Hook! Posted: 02 Oct 2009 03:30 PM PDT Crime doesn't pay, but in America, you can pay to repent for committing a crime! Back in August, the gaggle of girlies from the Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobreva, Candice Accola, Kayla Ewell, Krystal Vayda, and Sara Canning, were booked and charged with disorderly conduct after dangling off a bridge for an impromptu photoshoot. (The accompanying photographer, Tyler Shields, was also charged). Today, according to a Monroe County court spokeswoman, "It's over" and the girls have cleared their names. None of them showed up for their day in court, so they forfeit the bond money they paid for bail. With the money in their pockets, the Monroe County legal system doesn't see the need to pursue the matter further. Ah, a new generation of Hollywood learning that crime isn't always followed by punishment!

Jon Apologizes To Kate Posted: 02 Oct 2009 03:15 PM PDT Jon Gosselin has been making the media rounds since the announcement that he wants TLC to shut down Jon and Kate Plus 8. On an interview that is airing tonight on ET with Mary Hart, Jon apologizes to wife Kate Gosselin: "Kate, I just want to apologize, you know for my actions. You know, I'm sorry, you know, that I was an avoider and I didn't communicate properly. And now I have to take initiative, let's both go together, let's both mediate this thing out." All of these stunts he's pulling as of late are so transparent! We don't think he cares about Kate at all, but rather his own image. It's BS! Jon continues, bringing up their 8 children: "I mean they're 5 and 8, but they understand tabloids, they understand paparazzi, they understand all that stuff. They know things that are always printed are not truth. … When the time is right as a father I'll decide what I'm going to do with my kids, apologizing whys and what's right to say. I mean, that's why I am getting counseling and that's why I have a great team because I don't really know what to say to them that won't hurt them or harm them in any way." Regardless of apologies, the kids are going to be hurt and really it's because of both parents. This divorce has gotten very messy and very public and will undoubtedly cause major emotional damage to all the children. Even though we think Jon is a HUGE douchebag, it would probably be best for the kiddies if Jon and Kate could find some way to peacefully co-parent. We're not sure how likely that is though, especially after all the shiz Jon has caused by his ridiculous behavior over the past few months! [Image via WENN.]

Paramore Postpones! Posted: 02 Oct 2009 03:00 PM PDT On Tuesday, Paramore took the stage to kick off their new US tour in Pomona. Things took a turn for the worst as lead singer Hayley Williams lost her voice after the set and couldn't return for the encore. Now it seems, her condition has worsened, and the band will be forced to postponed several tour dates. Hayley took to the band's website to explain the situation herself: Hey everyone, I've kept quiet (literally) for the past few days waiting to figure out how we were going to deal with my vocal cords breaking (not literally). Now's a good time to fill everyone in, I suppose. First of all, the show on Tuesday was absolute insanity. Such an amazing mix of emotions. We were so excited to see all of you who came out in Pomona. It was weird, because it felt like one of those shows that we did in the fall of 2006. When things seemed to be exploding but it was still really intimate. I've never had such a good time on stage. Then there was the other side of me that was just in pain. After a 15 hour "work" day, 1 other show and 3 meet and greets later, my voice finally gave out on me. A few days before, I had already gotten sick, so it was probably bound to happen at some point. I made it through 7 or 8 songs alright and then, that was it. I was trying to be super positive about it, too! Haha… in the end, it was best that I let it go. Man, I was so disappointed I couldn't be a part of the encore. When the guys walked back onstage, I was sitting backstage in a corner… trying to hide my embarrassment from the crew members and other bands. You guys can't even imagine how good it felt to hear you singing along to "Misery Business" and even the "Miracle: Outro". It was SO LOUD! Definitely, one of the most incredible moments, for me, thus far. So, before I go on and try to explain all the boring details… I wanted to say THANK YOU! So, this week I saw one of the best doctors in the country to check on my vocal cords. I knew it wasn't going to be good but knowing that we were just starting our tour, I was trying to remain positive about it. In short, I've got laryngitis and need several days of vox rest. Luckily, we caught it early on. It's not like I've got some impending doom hanging over my head in which every time I play a show I'm going to wonder if it's the last one… I just have to be smart about this whole thing. So - we may have to rework the way I do stuff on the road.. like not only do I need to watch what I eat - but how much I talk at meet and greets and signings and press. I might have to go back to wearing that "I'm on voicerest" button that I used to wear all the time. Ha. Ha. IT SUCKS!!! But I'm doing every thing I can, taking every precaution, to get it right. I wanna beon tour, man! All in all, this is the reason for the postponement of the upcoming shows. Just know that we WILL be coming back for you guys! The entire tour is going to happen… and I'm psyched. Thank you again for the incredible support that you've shown me and the guys. We always say it but seriously… Paramore fans are the best fans. Wanna fight about it? Oh and PS. To everyone who's picked up 'brand new eyes'. Holy cow. I'm hearing all kinda numbers and reports about having one of the top two records of the week. Regardless of whether it happens or not… this is madness! I LOVE IT! We're so proud of the new album and so stoked that so many people have already heard it. Keep telling all your friends!
