Denzel Does TV?!

Posted: 13 Aug 2009 05:00 PM PDT

He hasn't performed on the tube since 1980, so we doubt that's gonna happen anytime soon!

Although, Denzel Washington is seriously considering an executive producer role on Billy Stiles, a new police drama rumored to be picked up by Fox.

The project, an ensemble series that centers around a genius gang member-turned-cop, comes from the mind of 24 writer Virgil Williams.

We envision Training Day meets NYPD Blue!

Stiles is based on a short story written by Williams six years ago while he was between staff writing jobs. It was frequently used as a writing sample.

If only Denzel would make an appearance!

Dane Cook Thinks VaneXXXa Is Darling

You've all heard by now Dane Cook's hilarious comments/advice to Vanessa Hudgens on Sunday during the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.

The comedian told VaneXXXa, "Girl, you gots to keep your clothes on! Phones are for phone calls, girl!"

To which the camera zoomed in on her face and she wasn't too thrilled about it.

Thursday night, Cook attended the Las Vegas for the premiere of The Goods. And when asked about his remarks, he simply said it was "just a dumb joke." Adding that "She's a darling girl."

What, is he really sorry for his joke or is he being sincere?

He's not exactly apologizing for his "dumb joke". Nor should he! It was f-u-n-n-y. And Dane Cook is rarely funny!

The entire fab English band is in quarantined!!!

According to sources, lead singer Tom Meighan unfortunately contracted the swine flu while on tour with the band and spread it amongst the rest of the fellas. Now, everyone is locked up in isolation until the symptoms subside.

It's assume that Tom picked up the virus while performing in Japan a few days before.

Phew! We got out just in time!

Anyway, from his hotel room, Serge Pizzorno told the press: "We're all sick as dogs, man. It's pretty terrible. It's a bit of a virus that we picked up in Japan. It's so tough. I am confined to my hotel room and I look out and see the Opera House and the harbour and so want to be out there in it all."

Aww. Feel better, bbs! Take the time to rest!

Bryan Singer To Be A Battlestar Director?

Bryan Singer, the man behind the X-Men movies, Superman Returns, and Valkrie, is very close to a deal to produce and possibly direct a brand-new Battlestar Galactica feature film.

The project had been discussed almost eight years ago, but because of the tragedy of 9/11, the film never made it to life. (As we understand it, a big part of the movie was a colossal sneak attack from the bad guys, so the studio got nervous and axed the flick.)

Now, after the cult success of the TV show version, Universal Studios sees potential in a film franchise and is looking to have Bryan bring it to life.

However, no details about the flick have been released other than Bryan's creative attachment and it is unclear if Bryan will use his original concepts for the film or go in a new direction.

What kind of Battlestar movie would U like to see?

Melissa Joan Hart's Heartache

Sabrina The Teenage Witch alum Melissa Joan Hart has been through some tough times recently!

And we don't mean because of the comments she made about Farrah Fawcett dying or her ill attempt to spin her remarks.

Instead, Melissa has been dealing with a very sad family issue.

Turns out her mother, Paula, had to undergo an eight-hour surgery back in June to operate on a brain tumor!

Melissa is now opening up about the ordeal. She says:

"I was beyond worried but had faith. I had to be patient. It was tough. Having all six of my siblings there made it easier. We tried to distract ourselves with games in the waiting room. I even stupidly challenged my brother to a push-up competition!"

In fact, Melissa wanted to be so close to her mom that she packed up from Los Angeles and recently moved to Connecticut with her husband and family!

She says, "We moved 3,000 miles away, we left behind our house and our friends — it's very hard. But it's for my mom!"

Nice to see she cares about someone more than herself.

We hope her mom has a speedy recovery!

Stay Out Of The Pool!!!

You have got to be effing us!!!

This is just ri-di-cu-lous!!!

While in past years, the MGM Grand has invited celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, and Lauren Conrad to host their Wet Republic pool party, well, now, the festivities are being overseen on Aug. 29th by the man they are calling "America's Favorite Father": Jon Gosselin!

How in God's name did he get this gig?

Gross!!!

Jon will apparently already be in town for the MAGIC fashion trade show because of his involvement with the Christian Audigier clothing line. We're sure he'll bring his kids buddy Michael Lohan along to enjoy Sin City with him. Michael probably knows where the best hookers are anyway!

Quick question Jon: When are you going to spend time with your kids? We bet they'd like a pool party!

poltergeist25big.jpg

Alright horror junkies, listen up!

We've got another remake for you: Poltergeist 2.0 is coming!

And, a date has been chosen!

On November 24, 2010, MGM will release it's remake of the Tobe Hooper's classic flick.

It could be really scary or it could be really crappy.

Which do U think it will be?

Petty Actresses!!!

Though they both are boinking the most popular Yankees players, Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter respectfully, Kate Hudson and Minka Kelly are keeping things cold on their playing field.

Sources have observed that the two actresses keeping a very obvious distance from one another when attending the games and people are uncertain if this is an "extension of the ongoing A-Rod-Jeter rivalry" or if they're just being petty.

We think they might be standing by their men. We'd give anything, though, to see them throw down and cat-fight right on the Yankee field. That would make us actually watch a sporting event!
