According to a recent press release from Nickelodeon, Dora the Explorer - a cartoon character hailed as a positive, intelligent role model for little girls - will be receiving a makeover as the character grows up. Unfortunately, her makeover will be at the hands of a Bratz doll. The press release explains, "As tweenage Dora, our heroine has moved to the big city, attends middle school and has a whole new fashionable look. What's more, she now has a rich online world in which girls can explore, play games, customize, and most importantly solve mysteries with Dora and her new friends. Adding to the play value, Dora's online world is interactive with the new doll line." Additionally, in the online world, "This exciting innovation in computer-connected play offers girls a unique interactive experience: as girls are playing online they can customize their doll and watch as she magically transforms right before their eyes. For example, by changing Dora's hair length, jewelry, and eye color on screen, the Dora doll magically changes as well." Aren't there enough slutty role models in the world for tweens to idolize? Shanna Moakler revealed to US Weekly earlier in the week that she and Travis Barker plan to wed again! What a difference a year makes! At this same time last year, their divorce was being finalized. Shanna and Travis have been almost inseparable since the drummer survived that horrible plane crash. "We would like to renew our vows and have another wedding," said the former Playboy model. "It's not so much about the wedding but about having a celebration of each other and getting through all the crazy things we've been through. Good luck! Chris Browns 'team' is apparently working on overdrive to salvage his sinking career. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Beat Her Down and his 'victim', Rihanna, are set to co-author a book about abuse and go on a talk show tour to speak directly to their fans and the general public. Other things on the ”Project Mea Culpa” do do list includes Brown's telling of his increasingly abusive behavior toward Rihanna, and partnering with clinical experts in the field to add credibility to their couples counseling efforts. A source close to the Beat Her Down camp said, ”Obviously this is a public relations campaign, but it only will work if there's genuine healing, contrition and a path to preventing future problems. … It's another example of trying to turn a bad situation into something good … where people can learn to change habits.” If he was really sorry, why did he have to sound like such a pompus, unrepentant prick in his first post-beat down statement? Be very very careful while on the streets of Londontown. Wino wants to start driving! Back from her refreshing marathon stay in St. Lucia, Amy Winehouse is reportedly eager to learn how to drive because she wants "a cute vintage car" to cruise around the streets of her new North London suburban neighborhood in. Driving is just one of the things Amy is trying to occupy herself with to avoid the temptation of drugs and alcohol. The recovering singer is also sparing no expense to have a gym and sunbed installed in her new home. Friends are hoping that since "Amy's got such an addictive personality that hopefully her gym will become her new vice" and that driving will keep her sober. But she's already soooo skinny! As we mentioned months ago, comedian D.L. Hughley was given his own show on CNN, D. L. Hughley Breaks the News. Who thought that was actually going to be a good idea? We're not sure. The show premiered on October 25th, and we've just found out it's been canceled. We're sure it didn't help that his show was ripped apart by critics the first weekend it aired, with one columnist writing, "What the hell was CNN thinking?" The show was also said to be full of awkward interviews. And just recently a report was released that CNN was going to cancel Hughley's show due to "budgetary constraints." A.K.A, "You suck." However, CNN has now confirmed the news. An official statement from the network though claims Hughley was the one who decided to end it all. CNN said, "D.L. approached CNN about being permanently based in Los Angeles, where his family lives. To accommodate this, we agreed upon a new role where he will be a contributor for the network based in Los Angeles. We are eager to continue our relationship with D.L. who is a tremendous talent and a valued colleague." Blah blah blah. Bad ratings. Bad reviews. Bad show. [Image via WENN.] |

Though former Senator and Presidential wannabe John Edwards denies paternity, the new photo of former miistress Rielle Hunter and daughter Frances Quinn Hunter from her first birthday speaks for itself. Sources are now saying that ex-lover Rielle is upset about a self-help book that Elizabeth Edwards is to begin pushing in May called Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life's Adversities, which is said to address her husbands extramarital affair. It is unknown, however, if Elizabeth knows or acknowledges that John might be the father. Rielle, however, seems to be handling the situation with a quiet dignity, seeking neither publicity nor aid from the Edwards, or so her "camp" would like us to believe. But, with Elizabeth about to embark upon a book tour and John said to be preparing a speaking tour at universities and organizations, friends of Rielle are saying that she might begin speaking up. Dumb! Rapper Coolio was just busted at LAX for possession of crack cocaine!!! While going through security, crack was detected on his person.
