Oprah Won't Be Hosting This Party Posted: 07 Jan 2009 07:45 PM CST Oprah Winfrey won't be hosting an inaugural party for Barack Obama this month after all! Despite past rumors, a source at O's production company, Harpo, is now setting the record straight. The insider confirms that Winfrey won't be sponsoring a party when she hits the road later this month for the inauguration. In a recent interview, Oprah said, "Everybody's calling me about a party. I'm like, 'Isn't somebody else having a party?'…I don't know about the party thing yet…There is extreme party confusion. I'm trying to get to the bottom of it myself!" Too bad. More Chicago Shadiness Surfaces Posted: 07 Jan 2009 07:30 PM CST Who does the Chicago Public School system think they are? Starbucks???? According to a new report, some Chicago Public Schools employees 'bent rules' so they could spend $67,000 for espresso machines. Funny business seems to be all too common in Illinois government agencies! The report went on to say that a majority of the 30 machines purchased for an alleged culinary arts program have gone unused. And, several months after the purchases only three were in use, though not for the program. One has apparently disappeared and 22 hadn't even been opened. It was also revealed that employees separated the purchases to stay under $10,000 so they wouldn't have to seek competitive bids or school board approval. Taylor Is Still Number 1 Posted: 07 Jan 2009 07:15 PM CST For her FIFTH non-consecutive week, Taylor Swift's is again on the Number 1 spot of the Billboard album charts with her latest release, Fearless. Staying close in the Number 2 spot is Beyonce with I Am … Sasha Fierce. As for third place, that goes to Kanye West with his 808s and Heartbreak, which has moved up from the fifth spot. T.I. Ponies Up Posted: 07 Jan 2009 07:00 PM CST Rapper T.I. went to court in Atlanta on Tuesday to pony up $8,000 for his babymomm's legal fees. He sure loves to spend time in court! LaShon Dixon hit T.I. up for the cash when the rapper failed to pay the bills as part of an ongoing child support deal. T.I.'s excuse? Oh, the order got lost when he changed assistants. What a great father! Though this matter is now settled, it ain't over yet! It's Official! Taylor Lautner To Return as Jacob in New Moon Posted: 07 Jan 2009 06:31 PM CST The search for the new Jacob is over. They're sticking with the old dude! Twilight author Stephanie Meyer just confirmed the casting news on her official website. Stephanie posted the following note from New Moon director Chris Weitz : "I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer. The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I'm looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film. very best Chris Weitz" Meyer herself had the following to say: "I'd just like to add that I was very much a part of this decision. My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie.
