Tara Reid Checks Into Rehab

Former actress Tara Reid is seeking treatment for addiction, her publicist has revealed.

What took her so long????

"Tara Reid has checked herself into Promises Treatment Center. We appreciate your respect to her and her family's privacy at this time," the hasbeen's rep says.

The American Pie alum headed to the treatment facility on Tuesday.

She should stay there a really REALLY long time!

Just two months ago, Reid told People magazine in October that she was a "social drinker" who enjoyed an occasional glass of wine with friends.

Uh huh!

Asked if she was ever tempted to fall back into old habits, Terror said: "No. I've done it. Trust me. I've done enough for a lifetime of everything. I've had a great time. I partied. I had fun. I ate and drank whatever. I dated a million guys, but I'm so happy with where I'm at right now. I don't need to do anything anymore."

Liar, liar, pants on fire!

At least she's getting help.

Happy HOlidays Tara!

Tim McGraw for Tennessee Governor

He'd be the hottest governor in the land!

According to a new report, country star Tim McGraw is 'seriously considering' a run for Tennessee governor in 2010.

Sure! Why not?!

If actors can govern California (i.e. Ronald and Arnold) then Nashville stars should rule Tennessee, right?

And, Faith Hill would be first lady!

Do it, Tim!

No Mo' Mexico for del Torro

Director Guillermo del Torro won't be making another film in Mexico any time soon.

The Hellboy director was recently on the red carpet at a special Mexico City showing of the film Rudo y Cursi, which he co-produced. And while he was there, he told reporters that he would likely never make another film in Mexico again.

It turns out that his father was kidnapped in Mexico 10 years ago which still makes del Torro fear for his safety too much to return to Mexico for long.

Thankfully his father was released, though the family reported they received death threats for a while after.

As for del Torro, he says he doesn't feel safe directing in Mexico because his daily schedule and routine become too public.

He added, "Not all of the people who participated in the kidnapping were captured." And described his situation as being a "forced exile."

Mexico has one of the highest kidnapping rates in the world! However, their government says abductions have gone down due to a new national security accord to battle crime which passed in August. They claim there's only about 72 kidnappings a month now.

That's still 72 too many!

But accurate and reliable date is hard to gather since a lot of kidnappings go unreported because of the fear of police involvement.

The nonprofit Citizens' Institute for Crime Studies estimates that the real kidnapping rate is actually at about 500 per month!!!!

Crazy!

Hunter S. Thompson's Widow Might Have His Kid!!!

Hunter S. Thompson's widow, Anita, might sperminate herself with the late writer/journalist's frozen spermination juice.

Creepy!

And yet somehow, completely fitting.

Anita says that although the couple was always trying for a little gonzo, it just never happened. But she can still try for it if she wants to because of Thompson's frozen legacy.

Anita says she hasn't decided yet and is careful to add, "Would I want to raise the child without Hunter? … I wouldn't want to do it as a way of replicating Hunter, of prolonging Hunter, or as a way of filling the void."

After all, you might say that Hunter S. Thompson was "One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

AI Takes Back Instead Of Gives Back

Paula what have you done!

Fox's Jill Hudson is refusing to comment on reports from an AI fansite that the reality TV show is canceling its annual charity event.

For the past 2 years the Idol Gives Back special has collected donations to benefit needy kids in the US and in Africa. The specials have included such big acts as Bono and Miley Cyrus.

The rumor is that the event is canceled for this year.

It's Paula's fault!

Or Simon Cowell took all the money for himself!

Mos Def's a Dead Beat? Sued By His Own Lawyers!

Who do you turn to if your own lawyers sue you?

It's a conundrum that Mos Def is probably dealing with at the moment.

According to a new report, his lawyers are suing him for $60,000.

The music man apparently hasn't paid his lawyers for the work they did on his divorce.

That's not the only legal headache the actor/rapper's dealing with.

In August, Mos Def allegedly assaulted a fashion photographer in Vegas and ripped his camera from off his neck.

It must suck to be Mos Def right now!

Abdrool: On Or Off AI?

Someone feed Paula Abdrool her Shut Up pills, because all of her wah-wah about her dead stalker might have cost her American Idol job.

Or it might have helped her AI job?

Different sources are reporting different reactions from AI bosses following Abdrool's little tantrum.

Some are saying that she is kissing her AI judging days good-bye, blasting her bosses' mishandling of super fan Paula Goodspeed because she's planning on leaving anyway.

But other sources are saying that the show's producers are actually taking pity on her, offering her a 9th season in addition to the 8th one premiering in January.

A rep for Abdrool confirms "She's going on the show. Absolutely. She's looking forward to it, she's doing press to promote it. She's going to be as big of a part of American Idol as she's always been. It's going to be an exciting season."

So maybe the whole thing is just an elaborate public relations scheme to garner interest in Abdrool's upcoming HSN line of garbage jewelry and AI's 8th season.

Either way, someone get on those Shut Up pills!

Teri Hatcher Gets An Apology - And Some Money!

Last year, Hydroderm, a skin care company filed a $2.8 million lawsuit against Teri Hatcher for allegedly breaching an endorsement contract.

They claimed that while under their contract, the Desperate Housewives star unjustly sang the praises of another cosmetics company.

Well, after a year of mediation Teri has come out on top.

Hydroderm has now retracted their allegations and issued this statement:

"Teri Hatcher is a woman of the highest integrity. We sincerely apologize for the adverse publicity resulting from our lawsuit."

She also received an undisclosed amount of money.

Sounds like Teri had some good lawyers!
