MTV is doing something a bit different next year. The network is going to throw an inaugural ball for President-elect Barack Obama. MTV will host the Be the Change Inaugural Ball on January 20th at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington. And, for everyone's viewing pleasure, the event will be televised live across MTV and even on its website. The night will feature several celebrities and government officials. Several lucky individuals will also be invited to the event based on their demonstrated volunteerism. Aside from MTV, many other organizations will be hosting inaugural balls in DC with more than a million people expected to be in the nation's capital. Fun times. On Monday, Twilight breakout star Robert Pattinson was snapped stumbling out of the Chataeu Marmont looking a little…worse for wear. Snitches report that he drank and smoked heavily in the bar/patio area of the the famed celebrity get away. It's been a crazy few weeks for R-Patz and we're not surprised that he took a moment to unwind with friends. Wouldn't you need more than two drinks after enduring a multi-country promotion tour mostly attended by screaming teen girls? Hope all the drinks were on you that night, Rob. Aside from not being in high demand for any good acting jobs, it looks like Lindsay Lohan isn't in high demand for anything these days. The troubled BiHan has a Mattel doll made in her image. It's nice to see celebs spending time with their families and pets. Just Tuesday, Justin Timberlake was spotted taking the dogs out for a much enjoyed walk. The happy bunch went for a stroll in a Los Angeles park. JT was there with his two boxers, Brennan and Buckley. As for Justin's girlfriend, she took her pitbull Tina. Kanye West says his new album - 808s & Heartbreak - is "great art" and that he doesn't really care about sales. That's easy for him to say, with a couple best-selling records and awards under his belt…but it's still cute! Departing from his usual style, Kanye sings on most of the tracks on 808s, and his voice, though still mostly disguised through a vocoder, is raw and open, perhaps revealing a softer, less cocky side of West. He says, "You know people sometimes don't understand great art when they first hear it, but I am very confident in it. Michael Jackson's lawyers pulled the plug on what was going to be a very interesting case when they plucked him off his plane to London. In Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa's suit against Wacko Jacko, the Bahrain prince was asking for 7 million buckaroos to cover financial aid the prince provided, a reneged contract, and subsidized lifestyle of bizarre extravagance. Jacko's side was claiming it was all just a gift. Jacko was called to London's High Court, and after initial attempts to hide behind a sick note, the fallen King of Pop was ready to go and face the music. But his lawyers reached a preliminary settlement, halting what would have been a spectacular shit show. What we wanna know is…what the hell happened? Where did all his money go? It's a sad story of a "millioniare living like a billionaire." - Recently, in addition to the "brain guru" at $300,000 the Sheik also paid for ice cream, about $400 of Body Shop lotions, toys, and a Ferrari - $135,000 on bills - And $2.2 million on legal fees - During his trial in Santa Barbara in 2005, it was said that Jackson was spending about $30 million more than he was making - His staff bill is about $4 million a year - He pays Paris' and Prince's bio-mom, Debbie Rowe, $1.2 million a year to stay out of their lives, and their nanny, Grace Rwaramba, whom they call mom instead, lives off of Jackson though she has fallen ill to lupus - He pays $61,000 for cream to treat his "skin condition" - $25 million to the family of the boy who accused him of molestation - $3 million a year to maintain Neverland and its staff…which he no longer possesses the deeds to - And a shizload of debt and legal fees attemtping to defend himself against shafted lawyers, managers, and advisers - yikes! Jackson is apparently living a much more low key life now, focusing on his kids and allowing them to experience the type of childhood he never got. In recent appearances Jackson seems ravaged by poor health and emotional frailty. Why does fame seem to eat some people alive? |

On Monday, Fergie and her hot actor man, Josh Duhamel, were spotted exercising in one of LA's canyons. And, look, that's a bump in her belly! It's not a baby, though. Or so she's telling us. Fergie Ferg gained around 15 pounds for her role in the upcoming movie musical Nine. It's assumed that she's working out hard to get back into banging shape for her wedding to Josh next summer. Music hit maker David Foster has just released a memoir called, Hitman. He's worked with everyone from Madonna to Frank Sinatra so you know it' could be a good read! One of Foster's quips about former-Beatle Paul McCartney made its way into one the NY papers today, Tuesday. He said collaborating with Macca was "a little like being on a bad date. Ten bad dates, maybe." Also, the Beatle was one of those artists who "needed to be reminded of his greatness." Ouch!! Truth or is Foster just a hater? [Image via WENN.] |
